Sculpture Painting 4 - Summer Song
This sculpture-painting is called Summer Song because it symbolises all the beauty of summer; the flowers, birdsong, heat and rich colour.
There are three flutes, hanging in front of a painting which uses the same motifs as the flutes: flowers and birds in a style which combines art nouveau and stained glass. The underlying inspiration is music, with the nightingale as the key musical symbol, along with the form of the flutes, another direct musical connection. |
